What's your favourite kind of music?

I really like contemporary and just more relaxing sounds. But then sometimes you just gotta go crazy and listen to something loud that makes you picture people smashing things. lol

I like artists like:
Paolo Nutini
SoKo
Dillon
Corrine Bailey Rae
Rooney
Taking Back Sunday
Nirvana
Queen
Evanescence
Teddy Geiger

and so many more. I will listen to nearly anything except country or rap. I really do not like anything about those styles of music.
And I really respect artists who write their own song lyrics, then you know their lyrics actually mean something and weren't written by robots trying to sell records and stuff.

I'm into music that focuses more on creating a certain mood or feeling, rather than the technical aspects of it. Those overlong, flashy guitar solos just don't appeal to me anymore.

My personal favorites (in alphabetical order):

Ani DiFranco
Beck
Bjork
Elliott Smith
Fiona Apple
Joni Mitchell
Kate Bush
PJ Harvey
Radiohead
R.E.M.
Rufus Wainwright
Sigur Ros
Tori Amos
Wilco

Ok. I like old rock. I also love jazz, regae, and some techno. Here are some contemporaries I like:

Pink Floyd
Queen
Prince (the "Purple Rain" day's)

I also love too many 80's one-hit wonders Shocked

Oh, I really like Bjork. I think that their sound is just so unique. It's the same with the artist Dillon. She's from Germany, (so many people in the u.s. haven't heard of her) and her sound is just so unique you just can't help but like it. Same with SoKo (she's from France, rising artist over there) I didn't really like her at first, but now I absolutely LOVE her music.

I'm not really into all that Death Metal or "Screamo" stuff that everybody is into today.

I was never into heavy metal really, although I like some of "Man of war", and there are some "Metallica" songs that I like. I guess when it comes to heavy metal there are some things that I like as long as I can understand the words!
